Wow... 2 years since the last time I posted. But, ya know what? It feels like it.
Mom life has really run away with me. I am now parenting a 6.5 and a 4 year old and life became busier once extracurriculars start being a thing. More of my evenings are taken up by more activities and there always seem to be more tasks that need completing once the kids are in bed, which doesn’t leave much time for reading or blogging.
Reading... oh my. It’s embarrassing how much reading has dropped off my radar even since the last time I posted. I can probably count on one hand how many books I have read since then. It also makes me sad. Not only is being a reader something that I really felt defined who I am but also I have really lost touch with the book community. I barely know any new books published is the last few years and I am generally at a loss when people are looking for book recommendations. Also, get this, I have also struggled to COMPLETE books. I know of at least 5 titles that I have started with great intentions that are sitting in different places around my house with bookmarks holding the places of where I left off over the years. At least two of them it is unlikely I will get back to. I’ve tried using rereading books I love in order to kickstart my reading habits, but it hasn’t totally worked out yet.
BUT.... here’s my new plan. Rather than rereading an entire series I have already read (like Anne of Green Gables, I got to Anne of Windy Poplars and gave up again), I started reading a series that had a new(ish) book that I hadn't read yet. HOPEFULLY, if all goes to plan, it will get me back into a reading groove and I will be able to finish this series and get into new books and get this blog up and running again...
And if anyone is interested, I'm rereading To All the Boys I've Loved Before, then hopefully, P.S. I Still Love You, both of which I have posted about before (click the hyperlinks to see my thoughts on those from oh-so-many years ago), and the last book in the series is Always and Forever, Lara Jean, which is new to me and will hopefully be the next post on this blog. I just watched the first book adaptation movie on Netflix and I loved it and it made me want to read the series all over again. It gave me the same warm fuzzy feelings that the book did, and I feel it was a very good adaptation.
